Less Expensive Ways Kids Can Enjoy Summer

Summer means the end of school and every child loves the idea of not going to school everyday. For most people, summer means a vacation in the beach or maybe an endless movie-marathon or cartoons on the television. For parents though, this becomes a very challenging task as they have to keep the children occupied for those months of no school. Camps can be expensive and not all parents can afford the cost of this. But you have to keep the kids moving and making something productive right? What can you do without having to spend a lot? Read below and find out:

How about making your own Popsicle? This is something that kids can have fun doing and eating at the same time. Rather than buying a lot of Popsicle from the grocery that can cost a lot, why not make your own for a great experience and a cheap expense too. Added references about this are explained at http://edition.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/getaways/06/18/family.travel/. Every child can make their own flavored Popsicle that they like; more than likely, one child will want strawberry or the other mango. To make it even more fun, they can choose to combine all the flavors they like and come out with an exciting new flavor for a Popsicle. The ingredients are very basic actually- simple syrup, lime juice, fruit flavor, Popsicle tray and sticks.

A sprinkler system can also be a cool activity to do for the summer while under a sun shade. For those who can't afford sprinklers, this is the best idea. Some of the things you will need are empty 2 liter bottles and a hose. To get started find a branch that is just the right height so the children can run under it. The liter bottle then has to be poked with holes at the bottom part. Get a string and attach those at the holes. The string will then have to be tied on the branch of the tree that you have chosen. Once this is completed, then you have for yourself a cool sprinkler where the whole family can play with during those hot summer days.

There's nothing more fun than having to come out of summer with extra cash. For kids, children can start putting up their own lemonade stand! This not only costs a little but can be the best past time for kids. A simple stand, beach chairs and a table is all it takes to start the summer business that can get children to save up some money for themselves.
